Internet Service
Wired, wireless, or managed – Find an option that best suits your business.
WHAT IS IT?
A wired connection requires a physical connection via coax, twisted pair cable or fiber optic cable from the Internet service provider (ISP) to the end user.

PROS & CONS
Wired connections are not easily affected by interference or weather conditions. This type of connection is reliable, fast, easy to implement, and byte for byte very economical.

COST
The cost associated with the installation of a wired Internet connection depends on whether or not your location is directly serviceable and the speed of your connection.

WHAT IS IT?
Wireless Internet service or "point-to-point" as it is also known, is established from the provider to the end user by a radio signal.

PROS & CONS
Because the end user will have a dish mounted on the outside of the building that receives a signal from a tower, it is more susceptible to weather conditions, radio signal interference, and cannot offer the same speed a wired connection can. It is also more susceptible to security breaches than a wired connection. (Not to be confused with WiFi which is only connecting devices on the internal network).

COST
The cost associated with the installation of a wireless Internet connection depends on whether or not your location is within range of an ISP's tower, the speed of the connection you choose, and the equipment that needs to be installed inside and on the building.

WHAT IS IT?
A managed internet service is when your provider gives you a service level agreement that guarantees your internet speed and up time. If the internet is powering your critical business applications, guaranteed up time is invaluable and a managed service is something you should consider. It may be more efficient to have one managed internet service than to have multiple internet connections. Please contact us to discuss your options.

Surprised?

Most small to medium sized businesses require a speed of 10-15 megabytes per second (Mbps) to function efficiently. If you're considering VoIP you need an approximate number of how many concurrent calls you'll be making. If it's 10 or more, you need roughly 5-10mbps.
